Things you didn't know about Chase Miller
Birth Date: January 28,1987
Home Town: Canton, Georgia

Chase has a number of hobbies that keep him busy when he isn’t at the races.  He particularly enjoys hobbies that help sharpen his race day skills.

Strength and Endurance Training - During high school Chase spent his off season on the wrestling team.  It was during this period that Chase recognized the value of a rigorous daily training regiment, in the heat, to build both strength and endurance.  Chase lettered in wrestling, but as his racing career advanced he had to make a choice between racing or wrestling.  He chose racing of course, but he continues his daily training program to prepare for the length of the races and the extreme heat in the race car.

Flying - Chase began taking flying lessons when he was 17 and earned his private pilots license the following year.  Initially, his motivation to learn to fly was to have more flexiblity with his schedule as his racing career advanced.  Piloting private aircraft has become his favorite thing after racing.  He continues training and has earned his complex and high performance write offs while working towards his instrument rating.

When Chase first started flying he was told by another racer, who is also a pilot; “Driving a race car and piloting an airplane have a lot in common.  Both require you to have; the ability to concentrate on multiple things at the same time; have excellent reflexes; have good judgment and be able to make immediate good decisions, all at the same time.  Otherwise, bad things are going to happen!”

R/C Helicopters - Chase flies gas powered remote controlled helicopters. They are very fast and extremely difficult to fly.  Like the race cars, they also require excellent reflexes, judgment, and the ability to concentrate on multiple things at the same time.  Chase has already mastered barrel roles and flying the helicopter upside down, just inches off the ground.  Your judgment and motor skills have to be good here!

Simulators - Chase has both a race car simulator and airplane simulator.  Chase really enjoys preparing for race events on the race car simulator.  There is a lot to be gained with its use, but there is no replacement for actual seat time.

Rock Band - This is Chase’s favorite game.  He likes it all, the guitar, the drums and the microphone.
