Champions Are Made Out of Adversity - Rain, Damage Leads to Third Place at MIS
Brooklin MI (6-12-09) - "It was not an easy day," said Miller. “Last week was the first time that we had all worked together. We all came here to win this race and had to settle for third, but it was a hard earned third place.
Those restarts were one giant accordion and I got caught up in it and tore the whole rear end of my car off. For a while it just felt like we were wrecking every lap there. We went to work on the car, made some adjustments and it took off like a missile again. There were plenty of challenges, first the rain and then the damaged race car. Nobody on the team gave up; the challenges just made us come together and work harder. The way these guys rallied to overcome obstacles makes them a championship caliber team. This was a two race deal with Cunningham Motorsports. Just think what we could do if we worked together every week!”

Blown tire halts Chase’s Landmark Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep/ SpeedFactory Dodge Run
The Pocono race weekend started off wet and cold. The practice sessions scheduled for Friday had to be cancelled as the rain continued throughout the day and into the evening. Saturday’s qualifying was cancelled to give time for a short practice session. With qualifying cancelled, the cars were lined up for the start according to the owners’ points. Chase and the Landmark/SpeedFactory No. 4 Dodge had to start deep in the field in the 16th position. When the green flag dropped, Chase quickly raced his way into the 6th position by lap 10. The Landmark/SpeedFactory Dodge then advanced up to as high as 4th, but a tight condition as the race progressed made the Landmark/SpeedFactory No. 4 Dodge settle in between sixth to eight position, while waiting for the opportunity to pit for adjustments. There was some great racing as Chase and several other cars raced side-by-side lap after lap. After pit stops for tires and fuel Chase continued to advance through the field and was running in the sixth position when the left front tire blew out going into turn 1. Chase continued around the 2.5 mile track, taking care not to tear up the left front with the blown tire. The time it took to get around to the pits for service put the Landmark/SpeedFactory No. 4 Dodge two laps down without an opportunity to get the free pass back to the lead lap.

Be sure to explore the links on their web sites. There is some pretty cool stuff. I liked the “Hemi” link at the bottom of the page. The SpeedFactory has some awesome video. You have got to see the “Blown Challenger Shootout Video”.
